All Solvar Irish themed jewelry is individually designed, drawing inspiration from Ireland’s rich past and unique icons; the Claddagh, Celtic Cross, Harp, Shamrock and intricate Celtic Knot work. These icons are rich in legend and symbolizim.

The Claddagh is a romantic Irish symbol of true love. The legend goes that  a young Irish sailor was captured and sold into slavery to a Moor. Far from his native land, he held the memory of his sweetheart and never forgot her. During his captivity he learned the craft of goldsmithing. Years later he escaped and returned to Galway. The gift he designed for his love was the Claddagh Ring; a token of his enduring love. “With these hands I give you my heart and I crown it with my love”.

The Celtic Cross has since early times has been rooted in Ireland and dots its landscape. It is a powerful symbol of faith.

The Harp is recognized world wide as a national symbol of Ireland. Irish harpers carried with them the legends and stories of their native land, keeping their culture alive.

To the ancient druids the Shamrock had mystical powers. To them its three leaves were a natural sign of a the sacred number three. With the coming of Christianity it is said that St Patrick himself plucked a Shamrock from the ground to explain his belief in the Holy Trinity.

Celtic knot work is said to symbolize the timeless nature of the human spirit. With no beginning and no end, these intricate designs are representative of eternal life and the never ending cycles of nature.

Each piece of Solvar jewelry has a story to be shared rich in history and legend. Every piece of gold or silver is authenticated and hallmarked by the Irish assay office.
